Lately I feel very "staying at home". I mean the weather is awful, I have no intention to get out on the street. I know, such an apathy is no good for me, but it's just too difficult to overcome the cold.
So, this look was inspired by the wish of wraping myself into smth very cozy and comfy to stroll around the city. There's nothing super trendy about it, but sometimes you just need to feel safe in your clothes.

Male Fashion Spring 2011 Trends
While all the designers insist on feminine image coming back with the new-look silhouette and flirtly dresses, next spring male fashion is all about manliness. Model guys look so strong and masculine, couragerous and reliable, you can easily call them "knights of the 21st century". Though some designers take this phrase too literally. Givenchy dress their models in real helmets, Jean Paul Gaultier and Dsquared beautify them with scars and bruises. But we girls perfectly well know that scars make men even more handsome.
Givenchy Spring 2011
Dsquared
Jean Paul Gaultier
Generra
Paul Smith
Moncler Gamme Bleu
John Galliano
All in all I can say that I love the whole idea of "man being a man" that reigned on runway during Spring 2011 shows. Men can wear either sweat pants or business suits, they anyway look attractive and incredibly masculine. Yes, with such a Man by my side I can feel weak and be sure to get help when I need it.

A.F. Vandevorst Spring 2011
A.F. Vandevorst is a rather new brand for me; I've never been much aware of what two designers: Filip Arickx and An Vandevorst - were doing. Thus, Spring 2011 Collection was their première for Matryoshka Girl (which is me for sure:)
Frankly speaking the collection didn't take my breath when I first saw it. Simple silhouettes, unpretentious colours like white, grey or beige. All in all it doesn't seem to be very inspiring or impressive.
Nevertheless you can catch some tips about what to wear the next spring season. Filip Arickx and An Vandevorst claim that this spring will be all about silver shadows and drapes, gift-wraping your body like a Christmas present (never mind X-mas holidays ended a few months ago).
And you definitely need to buy at least one piece in mustard yellow!
WHAT I LIKED
These metallic pieces remind me of chain armour and middle ages. Another women-warrior inspiration? Vive Jeanne d'Arc!
No doubt the designers were eager to promote an image of the emancipated and independent woman which even has a shield to protect her from a harsh world.
Loooove the dress! Self note: find something like that for spring.
Would you like some extra mustard?

3.1 Phillip Lim Spring 2011
I've just begun looking through the spring 2011 collections. Phillip Lim is the one I started with.
The thing that I love most about this designer is minimalism combined with a structural cut. Colors are pure and neutral, the whole collection is like a breath of fresh air - even all-black looks don't look too gloomy.
But on the other hand I couldn't notice any brand new detail in any piece of the collection. And that disappointed me a lot! Sheers, lace, beige - all the trends came from last season. Spring collection doesn't even differ much from the Fall/Winter one - the same colors again and the same styles.
Still, there's something special, particular about everything that makes Phillip Lim. He has a very peculiar hand, that you can't mix up with any other designer. He always gets on in combining sport/casual elements with chic and glamorous details. His creativity lets us see unusual collections full of especial and sometimes wierd garmets from season to season.
WHAT I LIKED THE MOST
Blue is the new black
Almost sheer cardigan
Black+grey
Leather skirt in beige
Love the pants!
A slight hint on cowboy style. Where's your hat, girl?
